Songs of The Arcturians

Lots to cover this time but I'll try to make it somehow connected.
First off, I don't much care for black-or-white thinking. I don't object to "cafeteria style" spirituality, since there seems to be nuggets of truth to be found in many different traditions, disciplines and fields of study.

I was impressed by a recent PBS special featuring Dr. Wayne Dyer called The Power of Intention (based on his book of the same title.) The inspiration for this book came from a line by Carlos Castenada, whose many books deal with the Toltec tradition. Dr. Dyer also quoted from Don Miguel Ruiz, another proponent of the Toltec wisdom and a favorite of Oprah.

I was suprised when Wayne mentioned that he is a longtime student of A Course In Miracles (or ACIM) since this is considered (gasp) a "channeled" work. I'm sure he knows about the Seth books too, though he did not mention these. Other sources and stories came from various Eastern traditions as well as Jewish and Christian tradtions (such as the prayer of St. Francis and the New Testament) WITHOUT trying to insist that ONE of these sources was The Only Truth (or trying to say that the rest are therefore COMPLETELY wrong)

Like many folks, I enjoyed the film "What The Bleep" ----mostly because it dared to open up a conversation on topics which I believe are important. Yes, it was done by some fans of Ramtha, but it would be a mistake to assume that all the scientists involved completely agree with Ramtha ----or with each other. I personally found the Ramtha bits to be pretty lame and embarassing. I mean, was that the best they could get from JZ!? I've already stated that I like some channeled stuff but Ramtha has got to be one of my least favorites. Its not just that she chose to create this big money-making empire, its simply that the material does not grab me like Seth and many others do. The message of Ramtha does seem to be essentially the same as countless others, but I've never seen why its particularly special.

Speaking of "what the bleep," there's a new little paperback out called "beyond the bleep" which takes a critical look at the people and ideas represented in the film without falling into pure cynical scepticism. After all, the folks in the film have more degress and credentials than I do, so I'm willing to listen to their opinions even if they are venturing a bit outside the paramters established by "the committe that decides what is science"

I was a little suprised that AOL-founder Steve Case bought Wisdom Media (now called lime.com) as part of his new health care initiative, as I seem to recall a controversy several years ago about his wife dontating millions to a Florida school which was connected to a conservative christian ministry. So I'm encouraged that the radio portion of lime.com (which I listen to on sirius sattelite radio) continues to broadcast some of my favorite shows such as New Dimensions and Living Successfully as well as new shows featuring Miguel Ruiz and Neale Donald Walsch. The network continues to offer plenty of programming on healthy living, alternative healing and environmental topics. I have noticed that the television programming is noticeably different and does not seem to include much in the way of spiritual or metaphysical stuff. Sure there's some yoga and meditation and a regular show with authors and their books, but it appears that you're less likely to see Doreen Virtue, Nick Bunick or Neale at least on the TV portion of lime.com. I'm mostly OK with that as the shows on the Wisdom Channel were all a few years old and they tended to repeat them a great deal.

Better stop for now but I promise to talk films next time and go a bit more into my current favorite books including these:
